Wakefield Council are considering a development for a new industrial estate on 250 acres of Green Belt land

This proposed development has not been widely publicised and many local residents feel they have been left in the dark. This development includes 24 hour distribution centres, industrial units, offices, a hotel and fast food chains. Does this District of Wakefield really need more industrial units, hotels and fast food chains, especially at the expense of Green Belt land, open fields, thousands of trees, hedgerows, wildlife and cycling / walking pathways?

Wakefield already has 2 massive industrial estates at M62 Junction 31, many of these units are empty. There are over 20 hotels within 5 miles of this site and many fast food chains / take aways throughout the district.
